Pallene - Vase XXXIII

Regular price €200,00
  • Only 1 left in stock

Pallene is a small moon orbiting around Saturn. It was probably a captured object. It is named after one of the Alkyonides, daughters of the god Alkyoneus who was born of Gaia and the blood of Uranus.

The vase was coiled by hand and fired up to 1240C. Pallene is made with a red clay and partially covered with porcelain slip with a section featuring the bark effect. It is glazed inside and left unglazed outside.

The vase is functional and measures 12 cm in height and around 11 cm in diameter at its middle (largest) point.

All the glazes are formulated and made by me.

Certificate of authenticity will be provided.

This vase is part of the 274 Moons / 274 Vases projects. I am building a vase for each of the 274 moons orbiting Saturn.
